Job Summary

Developer Relations Engineer (Contract) focused on building and nurturing the Coder developer community and ecosystem. You’ll act as a technical presence in Discord/GitHub, curate and improve the template registry, and contribute to docs and guides. Responsibilities include answering questions and unblocking users, moving fixes and ideas into the registry/docs/product backlog, collecting actionable feedback from community signals, building templates for key stacks (Python, Node, Go, Rust, Java), and creating demos and hardware demos. You’ll run talks/workshops at technical events, produce recorded demos, collaborate with marketing on content, and own community programs such as education partnerships and open-source initiatives. Requirements include a software/platform engineering background, strong empathy for developers, ability to travel up to 20%, strong technical writing, and prior experience in developer communities. The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration with product, engineering, marketing, and community teams, and aims to reduce activation drop-off from getting started to productive work. Experience with open-source projects, technical documentation, and developer-facing content is highly valued; travel and conference/meetup presence are considered bonuses.

  • Software or platform engineering background
  • Strong practitioner empathy
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%

  • Ability to collaborate with product, engineering, marketing, and community teams
  • Experience creating content for developer audiences (docs, blog posts, tutorials)
  • Comfort with tools that scale impact (LLMs, automation, scripting)
  • Experience giving talks or running workshops is a plus
  • Familiarity with developer tooling and open-source deployment patterns
