Job Summary
Own the production full-stack platform from backend services to React UI, database, and infrastructure, deploying and monitoring it as the sole engineer. Design Java/Spring Boot APIs, manage PostgreSQL schemas and migrations, and integrate third-party systems while ensuring security and uptime. Ship the stakeholder backlog at startup pace, hardening the system with tests and documentation, and act as the last line of defense for sensitive business data. Sit directly with non-technical users to understand needs and iterate on solutions using modern AI tooling to multiply output. Lay the technical foundation for future team growth within RangeWater's in-house engineering platform.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years building full-stack systems
- Experience shipping something end to end alone or on a very small team
- Experience with a startup, a founding-engineer role, or a product with real users
- Ability to own a Java / Spring Boot backend end to end
- Ability to ship polished, complex UIs in React
- Ability to run PostgreSQL (schema design, migrations, query tuning, and backups)
- Ability to operate real infrastructure (Docker, Linux VMs, reverse proxies, CI/CD, logs, and monitoring)
- Experience being on the hook when something went down in production
- Ability to integrate with messy third-party APIs and make the result reliable
- Excellent technical judgment
- Strong stakeholder instincts
- Comfortable owning production end to end

- Ability to sit with a non-technical user and understand what they actually need
- Ability to ship quickly
