Job Summary
Build reference apps, demos, and integrations that help developers understand Exa's search API in seconds. Deliver technical talks, workshops, and streams at conferences and meetups while maintaining a helpful presence in public developer forums. Carry friction back to Product and Engineering by reporting specific issues developers encounter during integration. This role is in-person at San Francisco HQ or the New York office. You must have 3+ years as a software engineer with fluency in the AI stack, including LLMs, agents, and retrieval.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years as a software engineer, developer advocate, or a mix, with code you can show us
- Real fluency in the AI stack
- You have built with LLMs, agents, and retrieval
- You can speak about what worked and what didn't
- Public artifacts: repos, talks, streams, tutorials, or side projects
- Strong live communication
- You can teach something technical to a room and hold their attention
- Genuine enthusiasm for helping other developers
- Comfort working in public and taking technical criticism without getting defensive
- AI-native working habits: you build with AI tooling daily
- You have opinions about where it falls short
- This role is in-person, at either our San Francisco HQ or in New York office
Desired Qualifications
- Open source contributions developers would recognize
- Experience at an API-first or developer tools company
- A following or reputation in the AI developer community
- Experience running workshops or hackathon mentoring
- Range beyond code: video, writing, or design skills that make your demos land harder
