Job Summary
As a Software Engineer II in Site Reliability Engineering, you will partner with engineers, product, and operations to improve the availability, reliability, and observability of Kotak’s services. Responsibilities include developing tools for automation, establishing key performance metrics, and coaching junior engineers. The role demands hands-on technical capabilities in observability tools and experience in programming and AWS services. A Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of related experience are required, along with a passion for learning and mentoring.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years work experience as a software engineer of product/solutions
- Thorough understanding of how to deliver software with reliability and resilience concepts
- Hands-on experience building, deploying, and operating software using modern cloud-based techniques and micro-service architecture patterns
- A history of finding and reducing toil within complex systems and processes
Desired Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with observability tools such as Grafana, SignalFx/Splunk, NewRelic
- Strong hold on 1-2 programming languages
- AWS services experience
- Ability to build strong relationships with partners/stakeholders
- Experience with modern observability tooling, processes, and mindset
- Strong desire for building and motivating teams focused on continuous improvement
