Job Summary
Provide custody and security of non-citizens, including observation in various assigned areas, long periods of standing and walking, and searches for contraband via pat and strip searches. Respond to emergencies by running, climbing stairs, and using physical force to restrain assaultive detainees. Transfer and transport non-citizens by walking or vehicle while complying with all post orders. Read and apply detainee records related to health, safety, and facility security. Prepare and maintain records, forms, and reports as appropriate. Requires a valid Texas driver's license, high school diploma, and completion of pre-service training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record
- Must successfully complete required pre-service training
- Must have the ability to work all posts
- Must comply with all post orders
- Must perform all duties outlined in post orders
- Must be able to run
- Must be able to climb stairs
- Must be able to use physical force to restrain non-citizens
- Must be able to transfer and transport non-citizens by walking
- Must be able to restrain and secure assaultive non-citizens
