Job Summary
Detective position with Lake County Sheriff’s Office in Colorado. Investigates a variety of crimes and assists with search warrants and crime scene processing; conducts and compiles background investigations for Sheriff’s Office applicants; reviews firearms-permit applications; supports investigations with testimony and evidence handling; maintains data in databases; prepares reports and communicates with victims, offenders, and partners. Requires POST certification, three years of sworn law enforcement experience, and a valid Colorado driver’s license. Overtime may apply after 80 hours in a 14-day period; firearms and equipment provided. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalency
- P.O.S.T certified Law Enforcement Officer
- Three (3) years sworn law enforcement experience
- Criminal investigation experience
- Possession of a valid Colorado driver’s license
- P.O.S.T. Basic Certificate or equivalent (state transferability)
- Ability to qualify for security clearance and deputization
- Ability to work irregular hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Ability to travel within and outside of the County
