Job Summary
Detection Development Intern focused on building and tuning threat detection rules in XSIAM for SaaS platforms and logs. Responsibilities include collaborating in daily stand-ups, developing and tuning detection rules, researching abuse vectors to identify detection opportunities, contributing to coverage for platforms like 1Password and AWS, analyzing logs and telemetry to understand user/system activity, and engaging in discussions to improve detection quality while learning from experienced mentors in a hybrid office setting in Montréal, QC.
Required Qualifications
- Currently studying Software Engineering or Computer Science in a Bachelor's degree or higher in the province of Québec
- Available to be present at the office at least two days a week (hybrid work model)
- Available to work full-time for 15 weeks in Canada
- Interest in threat detection, security monitoring, incident response, or detection engineering
- Familiarity with SIEM and security tooling concepts
- Participation in Capture The Flag competitions and/or personal projects
- Strong ownership and ability to learn and apply best practices in security monitoring
