Job Summary
Create designs for small to medium tooling and fixtures, then produce detailed component, weldment, and assembly drawing packages. Ensure specifications, dimensions, tolerances, and Bill of Materials are accurate to meet manufacturing needs. Order BOM components, stock items, consumables, and specialty parts while managing POs and CAD models. Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and process technicians to concept and detail fixtures, and support external tooling vendors with current CAD models. Accountable for completing assignments by due dates, including overtime or alternate shifts as required.
Required Qualifications
- 2-year degree in CAD mechanical drafting and design
- 2-year degree in Machine Tool Technology
- equivalent work experience
Desired Qualifications
- Proficient design and detailing skills in Solidworks
- Proficient CNC programming skills (MasterCAM)
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude skills
- Experience with troubleshooting of mechanical systems, pneumatic circuits, and other processes used in equipment and tooling
- Proficient Microsoft Office software skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organization and prioritization skills
