Job Summary
Conduct detail polish on On-X Mechanical Heart Valves components using hand-held power tools, polishing compounds, and jeweler equipment to remove anomalies while maintaining dimensions. Visually and dimensionally inspect substrates and coated parts for conformance to specifications using microscopes, reticles, profilometers, and calipers. Operate cleaning and laser etch equipment per written procedures, performing in-process measurements and controlling component traceability through traveler sign-offs. Maintain clean work areas, document results, and identify process improvements to solve daily operational problems. Complete tasks with minimal supervision following established manufacturing schedules and safety practices.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Required to read, write and speak English with good command of the language
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written instructions
- Basic computer skills including at minimum, be adept in use of MS Office, internet, and electronic mail
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Use simple math
- Good manual dexterity for handling small parts
- Maintain quality orientation and attention to detail
- Perform visual inspection using a microscope for extended periods of time
- Ability to adapt to changes in product style, tools, and work environment
- Understanding of FDA & ISO manufacturing practices
- 2 years in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in inspection or assembly or similar intricate hand work
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
