Job Summary
Destruction Technician/ Off Loader 2nd Shift at Iron Mountain responsible for securely processing and destroying materials, operating destruction machinery (Forklift/Bobcat), leading a team of destruction technicians, maintaining chain of custody per NAID and OSHA safety standards, performing equipment maintenance, and ensuring security of all customer materials. Requires experience in production/warehousing, ability to lift up to 225 pounds, ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment, weekend availability, and completion of background check and drug screening.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in a production or warehousing environment
- Proven ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy bags, pushing rolling carts, and pulling two-and four-wheeled containers weighing up to 225 pounds
- Strong knowledge of machinery operation, with preference given to candidates possessing Bobcat and Forklift experience
- Ability to work an 8-hour shift in a non-climate controlled atmosphere, which includes about five hours spent on machine operation (Forklift/Bobcat)
- Transportation & Logistics: Safely operate heavy transport vehicles (6+ wheels) to Load and unload them at the shred plant
- Secure Shredding & Processing: Lead a team of destruction technicians in emptying collected material from containers (tipping containers, dumping gaylords) and manually dumping boxes from pallets
- Sort materials by grade while identifying and discarding contaminants
- Chain of Custody & Security: Maintain a strict chain of custody and control over all incoming and outgoing customer material in compliance with NAID standards
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily, weekly, and monthly equipment maintenance as directed
- Authorized to perform emergency repairs to ensure safe production; immediately report non-operational equipment to management
- Safety & Compliance: Uphold all OHSA, NAID, and company safety procedures, including wearing required uniforms and PPE
- Follow 5S Workplace Program guidelines and report safety/security concerns or layout obstacles to supervisors
- Team Leadership: Assist with training new staff and recommend process improvements to the Plant Manager or Supervisor
- Available for weekend work as required
