Job Summary
Desktop Surveyor – Home Claims role involves providing customer-focused, cost-effective virtual surveying to assess property damage, determine policy cover and liability, and settle claims for home insurance customers. You'll use in-house software to remotely assess the scene of loss, document findings, and deliver claim decisions and solutions. The role is hybrid with Leicester or Bexhill as the locations, and includes collaboration with the claims team, participation in policy wording and claims-handling enhancement work, and a focus on integrity and fair treatment of customers.
Required Qualifications
- Experience of investigating and handling domestic property claims
- Excellent knowledge of current case law, settlement methods, building regulations, flood/escape of water/fire damage management best practices and principles
- Good knowledge and day to day experience around claims scoping and management software
- Demonstrable experience in investigating, managing and reporting on a varied range of surveyed claims
- Liaising with customers, determining policy cover and legal liability investigations, establishing the loss value and any associated costs
- Maintaining high standards of communication with internal stakeholders and providing information on significant claims trends
