Job Summary
Desktop Support Technician providing on-site and remote IT support to faculty and staff in a higher education setting. Responsibilities include deploying, monitoring, and maintaining Windows and Mac devices; troubleshooting network and printing issues; managing IT assets and lifecycle; configuring systems; providing training and documentation; and contributing to IT security compliance. The role involves problem-solving, maintaining asset inventories, setting up accounts, and supporting incident response and crisis situations. Collaboration with the service desk and other teams, effective communication with non-technical users, and mentoring student workers are important components. Occasional travel to other USNH locations is expected; candidates should be prepared to support remote and on-site needs as part of a hybrid work arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree and four years of experience, bachelor’s degree and two years of experience, or combination of education and experience equal to six years
- Experience with Windows and Macintosh OSX computer platforms
- Experience with network and endpoint management
- Experience with enterprise ticketing systems
- Strong customer-focused support skills
- Organizational skills and effective oral and written communication skills
- Project management, strategic planning, and asset management experience
- Familiarity with Windows Active Directory and Jamf Pro/Macintosh server technology is desirable
