Job Summary
Examine insurance policies and records to determine coverage, then prepare reports of findings and negotiate fair, timely settlements with policyholders, claimants, agents, and other insurance professionals. Gather information to resolve property insurance claims while coordinating vendor services for contracts, emergency repairs, cleaning, and replacements. Provide quality customer service by explaining coverage, limitations, and options for replacement or actual cash value. Document files accurately within client carrier systems and maintain reliable internet access for running estimating software. Requires a current home state adjuster's license, 3+ years of desk adjusting experience, and strong communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed adjuster
- 3+ years desk adjusting experience
- 3+ years estimating
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Demonstrated commitment to timely reporting
- Strong oral and written communication, including presentation skills
- Have a professional, current computer, capable of running estimating software
- Have access to reliable internet
- Home state adjusters license
- Demonstrate self-motivation with the ability to plan, organize, and complete tasks independently without close supervision
