Job Summary
Engineering Floor Support on the production floor serving as the liaison between Engineering and Production to ensure design intent is understood and correctly executed. Interprets engineering drawings, models, BOMs, and installation documentation; updates BOMs as needed; communicates as-built changes and production-driven modifications to Engineering for documentation control. Conducts fit-up and interference checks, supports troubleshooting for electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues impacting builds, and trains production personnel on drawings interpretation and installation best practices. Contributes to quality assurance by identifying defects, documenting root causes, and helping implement corrective actions while ensuring builds stay on schedule within labor expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field; or equivalent technical experience.
- Strong communication skills with ability to interface between Engineering and Production.
- Ability to interpret 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs, and installation documentation.
- Working understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems used in vehicle upfitting.
