Job Summary
Designer for Sweaters and Knitwear focusing on junior women's market. Support seasonal sweater collections from concept through production, create technical sketches and design packages using Illustrator and PLM, coordinate with overseas vendors, select yarns/gauge/trim, maintain development calendars, and prepare tags and Walmart paperwork. Requires 4+ years in apparel (knits/sweaters), strong Illustrator/PLM skills, vendor communication, and experience with Walmart/Jr Young Women’s market preferred. Hybrid schedule: 4 days in office, Fridays remote; New York, NY. Salary $70,000–$90,000 per year.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in apparel, with a focus on sweaters or knitwear
- Understanding of sweater construction, yarn types, gauge variations, and knitting techniques
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator
- Familiarity with PLM systems and tech pack creation
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Prior experience working with Walmart, the Junior and/or Young Women’s market is preferred
