Job Summary
Interpret seasonal direction and creative briefs to develop silhouettes, prints, and color palettes for men's apparel categories. Create CAD sketches, construction details, and tech packs while independently owning projects from concept through production handoffs. Lead fittings, assess garment construction, and provide feedback to patternmakers and sewers to ensure quality standards. Prepare development and sourcing sheets, fabric boards, and BOMs to support production and align with merchandising and sales teams. Maintain PLM systems, organize sample racks and shipments, and conduct market research to provide competitive insights for seasonal strategy.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in apparel design
- Experience designing for GAP, Eddie Bauer, or similar brands
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and PLM systems
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and technical specifications
- Confidently assess and communicate color and fabric approvals
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Effective mentorship and leadership skills to guide junior designers
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to learn quickly, take direction, and display a positive, respectful attitude
- Strong desire to grow professionally and build design skills
- Consistent punctuality and good attendance
- Strong collaboration with team members across departments
- Innovative thinking, with the ability to spot trends and plan future seasons while executing current deliverables
- Effective time management to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Candidates must be able to commute to both Bell, CA and Beverly Hills, CA locations
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in men's fashion
- Club packaging experience
- Experience working with major club accounts such as Costco and Sam's Club
- Strong fabric knowledge to support sourcing and production approvals
