Job Summary
Conduct collaborative brainstorming to ideate innovative products and play patterns, then visualize them through sketches, renderings, 3D models, and material specifications. Create and review instruction sheets while defining product features via written documents and internal project management systems. Coordinate closely with third-party vendors, sculptors, and illustrators to execute design from conception through production. Prepare 2D and 3D presentation materials for internal and external meetings, including trade show setups. Manage interactions with Executive Leadership, Costing Engineers, Marketing, and Sales to ensure brand vision, cost, and schedule requirements are met.
Required Qualifications
- 2-3 years design/product development experience within the consumer product or (preferably) the toy industries
- Degree in design, illustration or industrial design
- Strong Sketching, Illustration, and Rendering Skills
- proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator
- Works well as part of a team
- The vision and perseverance to take ideas from concept, through development and into production
- Self-starting, self-motivating, and self-managing
- a solid team player
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent creative problem-solving skills
- Ability to work against strict deadlines and rapid changes in regard to direction and priorities
- Comfortable presenting product lines and speaking in groups
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- (preferably) the toy industries
- The ability to work in 3D programs such as Rhino, Maya, Solid Works and Keyshot
- Flexibility, creativity, enthusiasm for, and love of, the creative process
- Experience with Soft Goods and Doll Design/Development
