Job Summary
Under the guidance of the Design Manager, the Fire Sprinkler Designer will assist in preparing NFPA-compliant fire sprinkler shop drawings using AutoCAD, including knowledge-building in system components, hydraulics, code compliance, and field surveys as needed to install systems. Responsibilities include surveying existing fire protection systems, drawing preparation, material listing, and field survey as required, with a focus on delivering quality fire protection design drawings and hydraulic calculations for commercial and residential buildings within time and budget constraints. The role emphasizes ongoing training, expansion of knowledge in fire protection, and collaboration within a team to achieve customer satisfaction. Required duties also include drug testing and pre-employment background screening; MVR checks apply for driving positions; occasional travel may be necessary. Employment is offered on an hourly basis with opportunities for continuous professional development and career growth, including apprenticeship pathways.
Required Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of fire sprinkler design experience
- Proven AutoCAD 2018 or higher proficiency
- Computer fluency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent written & oral communication skills
- Continuous employment for a period of three years
- Occasional out of town travel may be required
- Successful completion of a drug test and pre-employment background screening; MVR checks are required for driving positions
