Job Summary
Conduct complex grading design for municipal projects, including hillsides and unique site conditions, while managing engineering calculations and preparing exhibits for street, sewer, storm drain, and erosion control plans. Review rough sketches and specifications to ensure conformity with design concepts, coordinate field directives, and resolve issues such as ASIs and RFIs. Delegate subtasks, mentor associates through all learning stages, and lead knowledge transfer for the designer role. Achieve an 85-90% billable utilization rate while delivering versatile design solutions across Colorado's local communities.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate degree in Construction Management, Computer Aided Drafting/Design, or a similar field ideal
- Minimum of 12 years of experience using Civil 3D to design and prepare construction drawings for municipal public works projects
- Mastery of AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Mastery of Microsoft Office
- Mastery of Bluebeam
- Experience coordinating between AutoCAD Civil 3D and HEC-RAS
- Attention to detail
- Excellent communication
- Multi-tasking skills
- Ability to problem solve and prioritize
- Ability to work independently
- Desire, willingness, and ability to teach
- Advanced understanding of municipal codes
- Valid driver's license
- Automobile insurance
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs occasionally
- Must have manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
