Job Summary
Designer II supports the design and development of architectural projects by producing high-quality design presentations, construction documents, and technical project materials. This role collaborates closely with project teams throughout all project phases, contributing to design documentation, Revit modeling, coordination with consultants, and construction administration tasks. The Designer II applies foundational knowledge of building systems and codes while bringing strong technical skills, professionalism, and attention to detail to every project. This position is located in Seattle, Washington and requires 3 days in the office with the ability to work from home Mondays and Fridays. Responsibilities include documenting project designs with 3D Revit models, supporting interviews/proposals/design presentations, developing project documents across all phases, assisting with plan check processes, coordinating with team members and consultants to resolve conflicts, participating in firmwide professional development and design charettes, organizing working drawings and preparing complex plans, elevations and details, applying building code concepts (accessibility, occupant loads, exits, fire-rated assemblies, ramps, stairs, handrails), estimating hours for tasks, and maintaining professionalism and client communications; other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Architectural degree from an accredited university
- Minimum 3 years of Revit experience producing architectural drawings
- Advanced Revit proficiency, including editing commands, project setup, file management, and troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of basic construction systems (walls, roofs, doors, windows)
- Knowledge of drawing setup, layers, plotting/publishing, dimensions, blocks, attributes, file maintenance, and viewports
- Familiarity with architectural and construction terminology
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; asks clarifying questions when needed
- Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities, and work efficiently
- Working knowledge of firm equipment, software, and documentation systems
- Ability to coordinate with architects, consultants, vendors, and support staff
- Professional, respectful interaction with clients and team members
- Motivated to take on new responsibilities and challenges
