Job Summary
A Designer role focused on applying engineering fundamentals to design building HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and/or electrical systems. This developmental position emphasizes applying theoretical knowledge to practical design tasks, with duties including routine design tasks (ductwork, pipe sizing, electrical branch circuitry) under guidance, problem solving with experience and education, inputting data into pre-written programs, researching equipment options (catalogs) under supervision, potentially preparing drawings from origin sketches, and maintaining an organized workspace. The position requires a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; participation in in-house education opportunities and pursuing the Engineering-in-Training exam is encouraged. Proficiency with Autodesk Revit and load calculation software (IES VE, Trane TRACE 3D, Carrier HAP) is expected, with IES VE experience considered a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent
- Completion of the Engineering-in-Training exam is encouraged
- Experience with Autodesk Revit and load calculation software such as IES VE, Trane TRACE 3D, or Carrier HAP. Experience with IES VE is a plus.
