Job Summary
Designer I responsible for creating customer-spec formulations using established design rules and technology protocols, collaborating with senior designers, project coordinators, sales teams, and lab leadership; will utilize design software and lab systems to document formulations and testing results, operate lab equipment, follow quality and safety protocols, support product development and continuous improvement initiatives, author technical reports, and participate in training; requires color vision testing ability, strong communication and project-management skills, and a foundation in science with lab experience in plastics/color/paints/inks or similar industries; travel may be required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 3-5 years of experience in product design, quality testing, technical laboratory work, or related roles
- Ability to pass the Farnsworth Munsell 100 Hue Test
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Intermediate to advanced mathematical skills (algebra, statistics)
- Ability to learn color matching systems and product design software
- Occasional travel may be required
