Job Summary
Conduct footwear design by sketching detailed technical drawings, producing specs, and developing customer-focused collections. Research trends, materials, and colour palettes while offering original ideas to evolve brand best sellers. Support the Designer in collaborating with the Buying Team to ensure fit and aesthetics meet requirements, and manage the design critical path by working effectively with suppliers. Maintain sample trackers, organize physical samples for meetings, and display collections. Competitor product research and general administration tasks are also part of daily duties.
Required Qualifications
- Have a flair for design with great creativity and imagination
- Be able to produce high-quality work to targets and tight deadlines
- Be able to offer original ideas to evolve brand best sellers
- Constantly research trends, new materials, trims, and colour palettes and show understanding of how they can be applied to the collections
- Competitor product research
- Support your Designer in working closely with the Buying Team to ensure fit and aesthetics meet brand requirements
- Support your Designer in developing customer and market-focused collections
- Sketch and complete detailed technical drawings (using Illustrator and Photoshop as relevant)
- Produce detailed specs and design modifications
- Display excellent attention to detail
- Keeping samples organised and displaying the collection for meetings
- Maintain a sample tracker throughout the development process
- Work effectively with suppliers to ensure the design critical path is adhered to at all times
- Develop excellent relationships with other relevant Head Office departments
