Job Summary
Meet customers to consult on flooring projects, listening to needs and educating them on requirements to build creative design concepts that match their style and budget. Provide advice on tile, wood, stone, and accessories for residential and commercial clients, then manage multiple simultaneous projects from inquiry through installation with high accuracy and follow-up. Schedule design appointments for existing and potential clients while networking to develop clientele and drive referrals. Collaborate with store leadership and employees to achieve sales goals, model best practices, and stay current on emerging design trends. Utilize company communication tools and proprietary design applications to maintain consistent contact.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of One (1) year of interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience
- Degree in Design is a plus
- Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus
- Proficient in basic mathematical skills
- Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite
- Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position
- Proficient and consistent use of company communication tools and emails are required
