Job Summary
Greet store customers, support design walk-in needs, and schedule appointments for existing and potential clients while developing clientele through networking and referrals. Provide advice on tile, wood, stone, and accessories to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for residential and commercial projects. Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions, managing multiple simultaneous customer projects from inquiry to installation with consistent communication. Collaborate with store leadership to achieve sales goals, model best practices with employees, and engage in current design trends. Utilize design applications including Salesforce and the proprietary Online Design Appointment Scheduler. Perform duties as assigned in a warehouse environment with moderate to noisy conditions, requiring the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of One (1) year of interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience
- Degree in Design is a plus
- Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus
- Proficient in basic mathematical skills
- Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite
- Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position
- Proficient and consistent use of company communication tools and emails are required
