Job Summary
Floor & Decor Designer provides a seamless start-to-finish consultative design service, meeting with customers to understand project needs and build a creative design concept that integrates the customer’s personal style, lifestyle, and budget. Responsibilities include greeting customers, scheduling design appointments, advising on tile/wood/stone and accessories, designing and selling complete design solutions, managing multiple customer projects through inquiry to installation with clear communication, and collaborating with store leadership to achieve sales goals. They require at least 1 year of interior design or retail/sales experience, a design-related degree is a plus, knowledge of hard surface flooring is helpful, and proficiency with basic math and Microsoft Office; experience with design tools such as Salesforce, Online Design Appointment Scheduler, and MyProject is expected. The role involves a fast-paced environment with frequent customer interaction and potential limited travel, and offers opportunities for career advancement.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of One (1) year of interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience
- Degree in Design is a plus
- Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus
- Proficient in basic mathematical skills
- Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position
