Job Summary
The Handbag Designer supports the design and development of handbags and small leather goods from concept through final sample approval, creating sketches, CADs, renderings, and technical drawings; generating and maintaining tech packs, specifications, and development documentation; tracking samples and preparing for milestone meetings; and collaborating with Design, Product Development, and Production teams to ensure alignment with the Clare V. brand aesthetic, customer needs, and development timelines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant industry experience designing and developing handbags/accessories
- Expert level knowledge of leather and materials
- Strong understanding of the full design development process from concept through commercialization
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Strong sketching, illustration, organizational, and time management skills
- Experience working with overseas and domestic development partners
- Experience with PLM systems and digital Product development tools
