Job Summary
Design complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems for military, government, and commercial customers using SolidWorks CAD software. Execute engineering instructions for design and drawing tasks, assist with prototype assembly and functional performance evaluation, and support the quality department in inspecting custom manufactured parts. Lead the department in applying best practices for engineering drawings and GD&T, including training engineers. Review and edit existing drawings across multiple projects, assist with developing concepts and component selection, and create and maintain Bills of Materials using Excel and SAP. Comply with engineering playbook and best practice procedures. This role focuses on CBRN protection equipment and containerized weapon station systems. Requires an associates degree in design or equivalent experience, 43-5 years in a similar technical role, and expertise in SolidWorks, engineering drawing layout, and GD&T.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in Design or Mechanical Design or equivalent experience
- 43-5 years' experience in similar technical role
- Expert in SolidWorks CAD software
- Expert in engineering drawing layout
- Expert in GD&T
- Knowledgeable of a variety of manufacturing processes (milling, turning, welding, sheet metal fabrication, surface finish processes, coatings)
- Knowledgeable of a variety of available materials used to make parts
- Strong computer skills including demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office, especially Excel)
- Quality orientation and high attention to details
- Strong and proven organizational, time management and communication skills
- Routinely punctual
- Access to or use of export-controlled technical data or technology controlled by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
- U.S. Persons or eligibility to obtain the required export authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or U.S. Department of Commerce
