Job Summary
Designer A - Electrical is responsible for preparing layouts, engineered designs, technical drawings, and diagrams using drafting techniques based on technical specifications and instructions. The role involves collaboration across departments to ensure designs meet regulatory standards, company guidelines, and project requirements. Typical duties include designing electrical systems and components, coordinating with other sections, reviewing drawings, maintaining CAD standards, using ShipConstructor and Navis where applicable, and ensuring compliance with PRNs, ECPs, EARs, and regulatory bodies. The candidate should have strong knowledge of design principles, drafting techniques, and familiarity with regulatory requirements and manufacturing processes, with experience using CAD software and coordinating with vendors and internal teams.
Required Qualifications
- Two years of college coursework equivalent to an Associate’s degree in Industrial Technology or related field
- At least 6 years of design experience
- Proficiency in CAD software
- Strong knowledge of design principles and drafting techniques
