Job Summary
Lead cross-functional design reviews and evaluate supplier-submitted 3D die designs for manufacturability and compliance with customer standards. Monitor supplier progress throughout the tool build lifecycle regarding timing, quality, and reporting expectations while coordinating engineering changes to existing blanking dies. Track and communicate project status, risks, and open issues to both suppliers and customer management. Interface directly with suppliers and customers to resolve design and build issues, supporting tryout and launch activities as required. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to ensure direct impact on tooling quality and program deliverables.
Required Qualifications
- General academic education
- 5+ years in sheet metal stamping design, blank layout, or tooling project coordination
- Working knowledge of CATIA V5/V6, NX, Teamcenter (TCE), and Microsoft Office
- Strong understanding of blanking/progressive die strip layouts, GD&T, tooling processes, and Ford WDX standards
Desired Qualifications
- technical training or equivalent experience in die design
