Job Summary
Under minimal supervision, creates complex plans and drawings for engineering and manufacturing use; interfaces with customers on a limited basis; has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge to complete a wide range of tasks. Familiar with CAD/CAM tools, drafts complex packages, performs data conversion, and ensures accuracy and conformance to quality systems. Takes on significant responsibility for executing design, including design review and follow-up, and may guide lower-level designers. Must be US person; role may involve exposure to ITAR/EAR regulations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma minimum; technical or trade schooling preferred
- 4+ years of experience as mechanical drafter/designer or equivalent
- Electronic or telecommunications industry preferred
- Advanced knowledge of drafting techniques, CAD software, design rules, procedures and documentation systems
- Ability to apply advanced knowledge of practical, mechanical and fabrication problems
- Able to interact with customers on a limited basis
- Specific vision abilities: close vision, color vision, depth perception
