Job Summary

Designated Safeguarding Lead within the Witherslack Group, part of the leadership team, responsible for safeguarding across a school serving pupils aged 8–16 with SEND (including SEMH and autism). Liaises with statutory and non-statutory agencies, parents/carers and staff on wellbeing, child protection and safeguarding; provides expert advice and support within a multi-location trust. The role involves collaborating with in-house clinical teams, delivering CPD and contributing to a high-trust, inclusive environment with strong pupil-focused outcomes. Requires substantial safeguarding experience, excellent interpersonal skills, and a genuine empathetic approach. Must hold a Full UK driving licence and will work within an environment with strong emphasis on safeguarding and diversity.

Required Qualifications

  • 3 years’ experience in a Designated Safeguarding Lead role
  • Comprehensive portfolio of CPD related to Safeguarding and Child Protection
  • Outstanding interpersonal and problem resolution skills
  • Empathetic approach
  • Full UK driving licence
