Job Summary
The Designated Driver Trainer role combines operating a WM vehicle on routes with on-the-job driver training. Responsibilities include coaching new drivers on safe operation, defensive driving, and adherence to safety practices; observing drivers and providing immediate feedback to ensure safety and performance; training on WM SAFETY defensive driving, WM Way processes, and OBU tablet usage; maintaining records of driver progress; reporting performance data to management; mentoring drivers as they transition into their roles; and acting as an ambassador for WM's safety standards and values.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience operating a WM vehicle requiring a CDL or
- 2 years equivalent military driving within the last seven (7) years and
- 2 years equivalent experience in supervising personnel, training or coaching others and
- Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to official questions, and complete records or reports
- Successfully complete pre-employment screening, including drug screen and physical
- Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A or Class B with an air-brake endorsement.
