Job Summary
Designated Crisis Responder (DCR) provides crisis intervention, ITA assessments, and stabilization services as a Mental Health Professional, operating as Law Enforcement Co-Responder with the Lacey Police Department. Responsibilities include ITA investigations and petitions, mobile crisis intervention, safety planning, crisis phone intervention, various evaluations (intake, school/jail/court-ordered), field collaboration with agencies, and DCR duties across Thurston County. Requires strong knowledge of RCW 71.05/71.34, documentation, and ability to travel within a 7-county region; open until filled.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree or further advanced degree in counseling or one of the social sciences
- Meets WA state qualifications to be a Mental Health Professional (MHP)
- Licensed in WA State as a Social Worker, Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, Psychologist or BSN/RN or Licensed Agency Affiliated Counselor
- Valid WA State Driver’s license, satisfactory MVR, proof of insurance and availability of a vehicle
- Satisfactory Washington State Patrol (WSP) criminal background clearance, CJIS and excluded party sanctions
- Two (2) years experience preferred (preferred)
