Job Summary
Manage daily grocery department operations and assist the Store Manager in overseeing the entire store location. Control budgeted sales, gross, and net profit goals while keeping labor, supplies, and expenses at expected levels. Supervise and develop grocery and store personnel, ensuring a friendly, properly staffed environment with quality product and store cleanliness. Enforce safety, security, and health guidelines including theft prevention, labor laws, and alcohol/tobacco policies. Complete vital reports, monitor inventory levels, and resolve customer complaints. Maintain adequate coverage through scheduling and participate in weekly and monthly meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High School graduate
- Three to five years experience in retail operations
- Operating as a department manager for at least one year
- Ability to meet standard Physical, Mental, and Visual demands
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions
- Ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks
- Ability to have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basis
- Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts
- Must have completed the Designated Assistant Manager Training Program
