Job Summary
Manage overall daily operations of the grocery department and assist the Store Manager in controlling the entire store location. Lead and develop grocery and store personnel while maintaining quality, freshness, and cleanliness of the total store. Enforce all safety, security, and labor guidelines including theft prevention, age restrictions for equipment, and health department rules. Oversee inventory levels, retail pricing, back room conditions, and dairy cooler operations. Complete vital department reports, monitor competitive price checks, and resolve customer or associate complaints. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal policies regarding alcohol, tobacco, and refrigeration alarms.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High School graduate
- Three to five years experience in retail operations
- Operating as a department manager for at least one year
- Ability to meet standard Physical, Mental, and Visual demands
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions
- Ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks
- Ability to have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basis
- Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts
- Must have completed the Designated Assistant Manager Training Program
