Job Summary
Design Technician V at Medtronic (Rice Creek Manufacturing) collaborates with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement cutting-edge manufacturing processes and equipment. Responsibilities include programming and operating CNC vertical machining centers, Wire EDMs, grinders, lathes, and secondary operation equipment; preparing metalworking dies, molds, and fixtures from drawings; performing precision machining to tight tolerances; and ensuring quality and safety compliance. The role supports the neuromodulation/brain modulation manufacturing environment, involves working onsite at least four days a week, and requires advanced tooling/fixture design, tool knowledge, and proficiency with Mastercam and Creo. The position offers a salary range of $90,400.00 - $135,600.00 (USD) and a broad benefits package under Medtronic, with US work authorization sponsorship limited to Principal-level roles and above.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of setting up and running Haas vertical machining centers, lathes, and wire EDMs
- Proficiency in Mastercam
- Familiarity with Creo Parametric
- Understanding of cutting tool geometry and applications
- Ability to read and interpret advanced drawings with GD&T
