Job Summary
Design and model equipment, components, tooling, and manufacturing layouts using CAD software while carrying out field surveys to understand operational needs. Collaborate with engineers on technical solutions from ideation to implementation, developing and optimizing tooling, jigs, and equipment based on manufacturability and safety principles. Maintain up-to-date technical documentation, drawings, models, and bills of materials to support manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and validation activities. Integrate new design and digitization technologies into projects while contributing to the continuous improvement of processes and facilities.
Required Qualifications
- A DEC in mechanical engineering or equivalent training
- 3 to 5 years of experience in mechanical or manufacturing design
- A good command of CAD software (SolidWorks, OnShape, AutoCAD or equivalent)
- Experience in 3D modeling and the production of technical drawings
- A functional command of English in order to consult technical documentation, use certain specialized tools and communicate with English-speaking suppliers and stakeholders
- Rigour, autonomy and an excellent team spirit
- A hands-on approach, oriented towards solutions and continuous improvement
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes (an asset)
