Design System Designer - Assistant Vice President

Job Summary
Design, build, and maintain reusable design system foundations, components, patterns, templates, and documentation that enable consistent, accessible, high-quality user experiences. Contribute to evolving the design system into AI infrastructure. Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to identify reusable opportunities and guide design system contributions from product designers. Champion the design system by educating and enabling teams, driving adoption, gathering feedback, and continuously improving the system. Employees in this role will work in the office four days, with the flexibility to work remotely one day (Friday).
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Product Design, including at least 2 years of dedicated, hands-on experience designing and evolving design systems
- Proven experience building and maintaining design systems, with a track record of solving complex design challenges through scalable solutions
- Strong visual and UI design skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Expert-level proficiency in Figma, including library management, complex component architecture, and variables
- Strong systems thinking with the ability to translate product needs into reusable patterns and scalable solutions
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a proven ability to work effectively across Design, Engineering, and Product teams
- Experience collaborating with engineers to bring design system components from concept to implementation
- A strong portfolio demonstrating your design process, problem-solving approach, outcomes, and measurable impact
Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Git, and Visual Studio Code
- Experience designing accessible experiences and familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG)
- Experience with motion design and interaction design
