Job Summary
Design Sr. Engineer responsible for designing and modifying aircraft structures and system installations (electrical, hydraulic, fuel) with autonomous, high-quality solutions. Lead design efforts from concept through documentation, collaborate with static stress and fatigue teams, perform trade studies and weight reduction activities, and mentor junior designers. Produce and modify design datasets and product structures across Airbus toolchains (e.g., SAP, CATIA, VPM), coordinate with multiple departments, and present technical material to internal/external stakeholders. Requires extensive design knowledge, leadership ability to guide teams, and strong communication skills in English; travel up to 5% domestically/internationally. Preferred capability includes experience with metallic/composite structures and programming knowledge (C/C++, Python). Must be eligible to work in the US; visa sponsorship not guaranteed unless specified.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering (Aero, Civil, Mechanical) with a strong curriculum emphasis on structural design and analysis and mechanics of materials
- Minimum nine (9) years total experience in design and analysis with airframe structures and/or system installation projects
- Experience in metallic/composite airframe structure and/or system installation of electrical harnesses, fuel lines, hydraulic systems
- Strong knowledge of design documentation, techniques and procedures
- Proficiency with CATIA V5 and/or 3DExperience; proven skills in multiple CATIA workbenches
- Ability to lead small teams technically to achieve milestones
- Ability to deliver detailed, complex presentations
- English communications skills (verbal and written)
