Job Summary
The role focuses on the design and release of systems and components, requiring proficiency in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and experience with automotive components. Key responsibilities include interfacing with cross-functional teams, managing Tier I suppliers, conducting DFMEA, and executing design for manufacturing processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or MBA from an ABET accredited university (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of Lighting Development, Lighting Measurement, Lighting Simulation using SPEOS or other simulation tools
- Automotive Interior Product Design components/systems design/development/releasing experience
- Experience with Tooling feasibility in Injection molded plastics/Decorative components
- Valid driver's license is required as well as a clean driving record.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience developing Performance Standards
- Creating master sections and Surface feasibility proposal for PDO
- Knowledge of CAN/LIN bus and experience with circuit analysis
- Design for Six Sigma DFSS experienced (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred)
- Knowledge of Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R), FEA, Mold Flow Virtual Validation, GD&T, and i-Speed
- Strong technical knowledge of plastic design and system interfaces
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanism and moving components interfaces
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanism, latches and moving components interfaces
- Strong technical knowledge of plastic components and metal structures design and seat system interfaces
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Powertrain / Engine / Transmission operation and components
