Design Release Engineer

Job Summary
Develop components and systems for vehicle programs by designing operation control interfaces for onboard chargers and developing technical design requirements for electrical vehicles. Execute high voltage charging and discharging tests, perform worst case analysis, and conduct Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) reviews to ensure design compliance. Optimize power converter designs using System-level Simulation Tools and apply Design for Six Sigma for trade-off activities. Maintain oversight of vehicle charging products from design through manufacturing while participating in supplier and critical design reviews. Requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering with five or three years of experience, respectively, and proficiency in AC/DC converter optimization and Ansys Simplorer. Hybrid work policy includes three days in-office and two days remote.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field
- Five (5) years of experience as a Design Engineer, Executive Engineer, Graduate Research Assistant, or related role
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field
- Three (3) years of experience as a Design Engineer, Executive Engineer, Graduate Research Assistant, or related role
- Three (3) years of experience with: Optimizing power converter designs, including alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) converters
- Three (3) years of experience with: Analyzing and integrating power converter requirements, including physical dimensions, thermal properties, coolant requirements, high voltage ripple, and transient performance
- Three (3) years of experience with: System-level Simulation Tools, including Ansys Simplorer, PLECS, Simulink, and PSCAD
- Three (3) years of experience with: Performing Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA)
- Must be able to report to listed local office
