Job Summary
As a Design Release Engineer - Battery Mechanical, you will lead the Battery Pack Team in developing current and future Battery and Energy Storage solutions. Responsibilities include performing design activities for battery modules, ensuring safety and operation of mechanical designs, and integrating electrical systems. You will be responsible for managing the Bill of Material, handling change requests, and creating detailed drawings using CAD tools. A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with at least 3 years of HV battery design experience and strong CAD skills are required, along with excellent communication abilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering with a strong mechanical background
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in HV battery design
- Very Strong CAD tool skills such as CATIA, SOLIDWORKS etc.
- Familiarity developing a product from concept to production
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to guide and lead cross-functional teams
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- More than 5 years engineering experience
- Excellent understanding of Battery pack housing, structure and cover, module integration, thermal system, integration of E/E components, HV bus bars and system & Wiring harness
- Working experience in the design of injection molded engineering plastics, seals, machining, diecast aluminum, and stamped metal parts
- Experience designing parts requiring joining techniques namely fastening, welding and adhesives
- Strong knowledge of engineering materials
- Good understanding of different materials and grades
- Familiarity with automotive standards
- Proficient in Catia V6 (3D Experience) or similar mechanical CAD tools or electrical schematic and layout tools
