Design Release Engineer – Air Induction and Exhaust Systems

Job Summary
Lead the Product Development Team for air induction and/or exhaust systems; manage the design, release, and integration of air induction and exhaust systems into GM vehicles with precision and timeliness; oversee pre-production builds and ensure test readiness aligned with program milestones; drive Design Validation using analytical tools such as FEA, modal analysis, and virtual builds; identify root causes of design issues and implement solutions; define and develop technical specifications (CTS, SSTS, SOR, ICD) and refine design criteria using quantitative data; coordinate cross-functional activities with purchasing, manufacturing, and supplier quality; monitor warranty data, stay current with emerging technologies, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders; role is hybrid with travel <25% and requires reporting to a location at least a few times per week; not eligible for relocation benefits and requires ability to operate a motor vehicle with company vehicle contingent on background checks.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 2+ years of relevant engineering experience
- Strong grasp of engineering theory, design principles, and system integration
- Familiarity with CAD and CAE tools
- Understanding of Specification and Release systems
