Job Summary
Plan, organize and direct the engineering department to meet project objectives for design, new product development and improvement of existing product lines by performing duties personally or through subordinates. Direct and manage engineering and design activities for project execution, contract review, quality management and product development for all Stellar Energy projects. Manage internal and external engineering resources and oversee daily workflow. Facilitate communication among clients/customers and engineers to ensure specifications, budgets, and deadlines are clearly communicated. Serve as Design Project Manager for multiple projects, creating timelines, engineering schedules and cost projections, organizing collaborative meetings, and ensuring projects comply with specifications, timelines, and budgets. Review work for technical accuracy; establish and maintain administrative policies, procedures, and standards. Maintain knowledge of new trends and best practices to continually improve product lines and production efficiency. Responsible for cost planning and control to meet goals; develop and design execution of Stellar Energy’s product line; manage technical specifications, procedures, and design data; coordinate with other disciplines; focus on product design phase. Manage engineering resources (manhours) budget; ensure designs meet specifications, codes, and standards; manage RFI, ECR, CORs, 30-60-90/NPI; conduct and approve 30/60/90 design reviews including 30/60/90 gates; coordinate vendor submittals to CPM; manage engineering subcontractors during product design phase; drive schedule with Engineering; coordinate DPM/CPM schedule; collaborate with CPM to align deliverables; track latest BOM release to align with procurement; participate in ISO 9001 and other audits; accommodate individuals with disabilities as needed. Competencies include Leadership, Technical capacity, Problem solving/analysis, Excellent communication, Interpersonal and customer service skills, Financial acumen, and strong computer skills. Travel up to 20% anticipated. Work location: Main Office in Jacksonville, FL; on-site, not remote. Requires US work authorization and a BS in Engineering; masters preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited University
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in power generation design, cooling system design, or similar design project working experience
- Familiar with ASME B31, NEC, ASHRAE, AHRI, CTI, HI, and various building codes
- Familiar with selection and technical requirement of general mechanical equipment including chillers, pumps, cooling towers, heat exchangers, etc.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the USA.
