Job Summary

Provide electric utility engineering for operation and maintenance projects, interpreting distribution designs and conducting pole line analysis to assess structural integrity of transmission and distribution structures. Calculate and draft designs involving voltage regulation, electrical load calculations, system protection, and fuse coordination for distribution systems. Input bills of materials for assigned scope of work and manage the project life cycle using work order management systems. Assist the engineering team by performing field visits to gather information as required. This role supports modernizing electric systems and maintaining thousands of miles of lines serving residential and commercial customers in the Pacific Northwest.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree (BS) in Engineering, Construction Management or related field from accredited educational institution OR 4-6 years related experience and/or training in lieu of education or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1+ years of power utility industry experience or related field
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite, with strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals and information, journals, technical procedures, and data
  • Ability to write business correspondence and communicate effectively
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other managers, clients, customers, and local permitting agencies
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as those commonly found in business transactions
  • Ability to create and explain financial models and forecasts
  • Ability to apply basic algebra, geometry, and engineering principals
  • Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with PLS-CADD or other CAD software
