Job Summary
The Design Manager leads planning, coordination, budgeting, risk analysis, and stakeholder engagement during pursuit and preconstruction phases for municipal Water/Wastewater projects in a hybrid Jacksonville, FL role. Responsible for early project strategy, design collaboration, constructability reviews, cost development, GMP budgeting, owner engagement, and coordinating with estimating and operations teams. Supports proposal development, RFQs/RFPs, client interviews, and maintaining relationships with municipal owners and engineers. Oversees progress from design through preconstruction, tracking preconstruction financials, and delivering innovation and value engineering to meet budgets and objectives. Requires a Bachelor's in a related field and 7+ years of municipal Water/Wastewater experience; proficiency with P6 and cost management tools; strong communication and collaboration skills. Hours are standard with hybrid/remote options; up to 25% travel.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in municipal Water/Wastewater construction or design
- Prior experience as a Project Manager on municipal Water/Wastewater projects
- Experience developing or supporting GMP pricing
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Engineering, or a related field
- Continued professional development in estimating, collaborative delivery methods, and project controls is encouraged
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with scheduling software (P6 preferred) and cost management systems
- Ability to collaborate effectively with owners, engineers, and operations teams
