Job Summary
Design Manager for automotive resin parts based in Japan and India, overseeing onsite/nearshore design work, technical guidance, quality, scheduling, and personnel management for dispatched designers. Leads coordination with Japanese contractors, clients, and suppliers (including the U.S. and India), manages project portfolios within the Nihon division, and facilitates cross-functional collaboration on technical reviews, scope, timelines, and budgets. Requires ~10 years in automotive resin parts design (interior/exterior, soft/hard trim), OEM/Tier 1 experience, team leadership, CATIA V5/V6 (3DEXPERIENCE), and Japanese-English bilingual communication (JLPT N2+). Proficiency in GSD, solid/surface modeling, DFMEA/GD&T, and familiarity with manufacturing processes for resin parts; strong MS Office skills. The role emphasizes onsite/nearshore management in Japan and India, coordination with contractors and stakeholders, and overall on-site operations management.

- 10+ years experience with OEM or Tier 1 supplier for interior/exterior resin parts development
- 5+ years leading teams to manage projects (technical guidance, scheduling, quality)
- Solid/surface modeling and mechanical drafting knowledge
- Understanding of development schedules in automotive
- Understanding resin parts manufacturing processes, DFMEA, GD&T, cumulative tolerance analysis
- Honda parts development experience preferred
- Japanese-English bilingual (JLPT N2 or higher)
- MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)
