Job Summary
Design Lead- Structural Engineer overseeing a design team for large-scale building projects. Serves as the primary design engineer of record and project lead, conducts regular design reviews, signs/seals plan sets as appropriate, guides schematic design direction, plans tasks and timelines, mentores staff, performs QA/QC, supports client and design-team coordination, handles RFIs and CA issues, develops Program of Requirements and Master Plans, and generates proposals. Requires a Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering (Master's preferred), 5-10 years of experience with project management, and a Texas-registered P.E. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering
- Experience in design and detailing of construction materials (steel, cold-formed metal framing, concrete, masonry, wood)
- Experience in design and analysis of building structures
- Experience in development of construction documents
- 5-10 years of engineering experience with project management experience
- Registered Professional Engineer in Texas
- Knowledge of IBC, IRC, ASCE 7, ACI, PCI, AISC, NDS, TMS
- Proficiency with Bluebeam, Autodesk REVIT, RISA, or RAM Structural System
- Strong communication and mentoring abilities
- Ability to sign and seal plan sets as appropriate for level of involvement
