Job Summary
Design Lead- Structural Engineer leads the design team on large-scale projects, serving as the engineer of record and project lead. Responsibilities include directing schematic design, reviewing progress, signing/sealing plan sets, coordinating with clients and design staff, performing QA/QC, mentoring engineers, developing Program of Requirements and Master Plans, and generating proposals. Requires a Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering (Master's preferred), 5-10 years of engineering experience with project management, and a Texas-registered Professional Engineer license. Proficiency with Bluebeam, REVIT, RISA, RAM Structural System is a plus; strong leadership, communication, and client collaboration skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering
- 5-10 years of engineering experience with project management experience
- Registered P.E. in Texas
- Experience with design codes (IBC, IRC, ASCE 7, ACI, PCI, AISC, NDS, TMS)
- Experience in design and detailing of steel, concrete, masonry, wood
- Ability to sign and seal plan sets
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering
- 5-10 years of engineering experience with project management experience
- Experience with IBC, IRC, ASCE 7, ACI, PCI, AISC, NDS, and TMS
- Experience in design and detailing of steel, concrete, wood, and other construction materials
- Registered P.E. in the state of Texas
- Bluebeam, Autodesk REVIT, RISA, or RAM Structural System experience
- Ability to sign and seal plan sets
- Leadership and mentoring capabilities
- Project management and QA/QC
- Ability to develop proposals and master plans
